Using a dehydrator, it’s easy to make your own bright green jalapeno powder at home. Here’s how:

How to make your own Jalapeño powder
Ingredients
Scale
1 lb fresh jalapenos
Instructions
- Prepare the jalapenos by removing the stems, then slicing into small 1/4 inch rounds.
- Place the jalapenos in a dehydrator machine, and dehydrate for 4-6 hours. The jalapenos should be very dry – if there are parts that are still moist your powder will get sticky/tacky quickly.
- Place the dehydrated jalapenos into a spice grinder and blend until they become a fine powder. You may need to work in batches.
- Store the powder in an airtight jar in a cool dry place.
Notes
For a less spicy powder, remove and discard the seeds before grinding.
